This is the standard way.

1) Go to main window
2) Configure your address (Tools / Senders and signatures).
3) Go to filter window (Tools / Filters)
4) Create standard filters for newsgroup (File / Create standard filters).
5) Customize actions for filter "News - Replies to my messages".
6) Customize actions for filter "News - Threads to follow"
