I'm trying to set up a pie in pie chart and I'm not sure
what I'm doing wrong. I have 3 data points for the main
pie and 5 data points for the secondary pie. Both sets
total 100%, but what is happening is that in the main pie
it's giving me 4 data points - the extra point is
called "other" and that is what the secondary pie is an
off-shoot of. I'm not sure why Excel is doing this. Any
ideas?

A pie-in-pie chart, *by definition,* breaks one of the slices of one
pie into more detailed components. It is not just a way of creating
two pie charts next to each other, which is what it seems you want to
do.

Why not create two pie charts and position them adjacent to each other.
Format/size them to achieve the desired visual effect.
