I want to add labels to my segments along side the pie, rather than as a
legend at the side, eg, Category A £100, Category B £50 etc. Please can you
advise.

Using XL2003 or earlier? Then in Step 3 of Chart Wizard open Label tab and
check the two boxes Category and Value (or Category and Percent, as needed)
Then remove legend
best wishes

No, I'm in Office 2007 so there is no Wizard.

Select chart; you will see a Chart Tools tab on the title bar
Open the Layout tab; look in the Labels group where you will see Data
Labels; open this
Open the last item "More Data Labels Options"
Check the two boxes as required
best wishes

Hi,

In 2007 we are all going to want to start using the right mouse button more
because most of these context menus have been highly enhanced. For example,
you can do what you want by right clicking the pie and choosing Add Data
Labels. You can modify them also with one step - right click any data label
and choose Format Data Labels.

Its a good thing they added these and many other commands to the right-mouse
button, because they took double-clicking away. What were they thinking?

Hi Shane
Long ago I started to use right clicking for many tasks, so 2007 is fine
with me.
For some reason I have stopped telling about right click when answering
here - thanks for the reminder
