Install a good internet security program or firewall and you
won't have to worry so much.

I'm using the XP firewall. Suggesting a very expensive update wasn't what I
had in mind. :-/

Looking at the information further, it appears that the PID 0 is not
connecting to any unusual websites.

I believe that what IS actually connecting is a Java program which I have
running on my system, unfortunately, by what appears to be a bug introduced
by one of the XP updates, the system isn't correctly recognising the
program's PID each time I query using Netstat.

I know I am not the only one that has seen this, so I very much doubt it is
anything that I have done to "upset" Windows.

This puts my mind at rest, but I understand how this makes things more
difficult to look for rogue internet connects, and I have no doubt this
could now be exloited. :-(
