pictures

whenever i go to copy pictures from the web into my presantation..it wont let me. whenever i click paste on the slide i want it does paste it on the but i cant see the picture i have to click around untill i see where ive pasted it and all it shows me is the outlines of the picture that ive copied but not the actual picture. ive also tried to save the picture to a file and insert it but and error message pops up every time i try to do that to. if you have any advice please tell me
 
What is the message? And where are you copying the pictures from? Oh, and
what version of PowerPoint are you using? All of the answers will help us
help you.
