My HP running XP is saving photos in the My Pictures folder in the background files of display settings. My Compaq running XP does not. I am just guessing, but doesn't that mean that it can be changed on my HP computer? Help.

By design, all images in your My Pictures folder
will be available in the Desktop Background list.
If you wish to remove your images from this list
all you have to do is move the images to a different
folder.

To move the contents of your My Pictures folder...
open the folder and go to...Edit / Select All...
In your "Picture Tasks" pane...choose "Move the
selected items"...

On your "Move Items" screen...choose or create
a new folder and left click the "Move " button.

I have noticed that if I exceed 100 images in My
Pictures the files no longer show in the Background
list. There may be a way to edit this number but I
don't know how. (This may explain why the images
do not show on your Compaq...you may have more
than100 images in the My Pictures folder)

John, on the Compaq, none of my saved photos have gone to background. The pc is 2 years old. Did an older version of XP not do this? The only picts in my background other that the few that came with the Pc is one that I intentionally sent there. On a deep programming level, there must be some way to stop this. Any suggestions?
