Pictures not showing in web pages

Don Leckie

Hello,

After 2 days of tinkering around, I need to ask for some help. Pictures are
not showing in the web pages. Buttons and icons do show. I have the
following picture related settings in the Internt Options Avance tab's
Multimedia section:
Show image download placeholders: disabled
Show pictures: enabled
Smart image dithering: enabled

Popup blocking is disabled.

In Outlook Express's Options window Security tab Block Pictures is disabled.

Office Outlook 2003's Options window Security tab Don't Download Pictures is
disabled.

Any ideas where else to look?

Thank you,
Don

Hi Don :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Clearing the TIF Cache -

or......

also....

If you have SpySweeper, check for a setting in Hosts File called Common Ad
Sites Shield. Uncheck the box and see if this allows the pictures to be
displayed.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, or you need help with the above,
please post back to this thread with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Hi Jan :)

I tried all the recommendations in the links you provided, but I'm still not
seeing any pictures. However, I believe it's a ZoneAlarm Pro problem
because when I shut down ZoneAlarmPro the the pictures are displayed.

Thank you,
Don

Hi Don :)

'k...here is what I have found: Yes, Zone Alarm Pro can indeed block images
in IE. Here is the recommended resolution. See if this will help.

Zone Alarm Pro can block Images in IE. How to resolve:

1. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom level>reset custom
level to Medium or Low

2. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>set the slider to Medium or Low

3. Go to this site and read on adjusting the Privacy settings in ZA. It will
explain how to customize on a per site basis.

Hi Jan :)

That did it! Steps 1 and 2 were already set. I added eBay to the privacy
sites list and allowed ebay to accept Web Bugs. Haven't had to do this
before, so something changed in ZoneAlarmPro.

Again, thanks for your help. You get 5 gold stars!
