Pictures no longer appear on desktop

I have uninstalled a desktop manager that enabled flash content and now images are no longer displayed when selected using the web tab under the Customize Desktop. The screens flickers when Apply is selected, but thats it

Thanks for that. Unfortunatelly, this did not cure problem. It DID do exactly what it says (ie enables/disables active desktop) which is useful. I suspect that the desktop manager, which set the desktop as flash-enabled, did not reset some registry entry when uninstalled.
