Many times when i have a picture that I have inserted, after I publish it
just seems to go out and find any old picture it wants. I have to delete it
and do it again and then it works fine.

Also, when I update a PDF file and then publish it does not recognize the
change in the PDF. I have tried recalculating hyperlinks, that doesn't work
either. I have to save the file to another name and re publish to get it to
see the change.

These are work arounds but it is a pain.

Make sure you are creating the images / and not HTML documents outside of the web, then import them
into the current open FP web, then publish, etc.

I'm not creating anything. I just do an insert picture from file. The file
is saved in a folder with my website. It's like it remembers some other
piture I used on that page before. I remove and add it back and it's fine.
Why doesn't it work the first time. An dthe pdf files I have to change the
name of the file if I change the pdf??

You need to import the image / document into the folder that is within your web via FP, then insert
or link to them.

No, that's not what he said. File | Import the image/document into the
folder that is within your web, then insert on a page or create a link.
