You are seeing temp files that are in your
Temporary Internet Files folder.

Right click one of the unwanted images
and go to...Properties / Location...you
will see the path to the image.

Running Disk Cleanup should clear it up.

Start button / All Programs / Accessories /
System Tools / Disk Cleanup...

I did that and it work but then when I went back online and then back to the Picture Viewer it did the same thing. Is there a way that I could keep those pictures off for good?

You cannot view an image unless it is downloaded
to your hard drive...that's where the temp files come
from. The only solution I'm aware of is to delete the
temp files regularly.

If you open a folder on your hard drive and view
images you will only see the images in that folder.

Also, on any Internet Explorer window you can go to...
Tools / Internet Options / Delete Files.

And you can right click your Start button and choose...
Explore and go to...

Local Disk (C:) / Documents and Settings / Your Name /
Local Settings / Temporary Internet Files...

Deleting everything in the Temporary Internet Files
folder will eliminate the unwanted images...at least
until you download more.

Could you please describe your exact problem?

What is the location of the unwanted images?

Where are the images saved that you are trying
to view in the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer?

Did you try saving the images in a folder on your
hard drive?

Did you empty your Temporary Internet Files folder
as follows?

Right click your Start button and choose...Explore
and go to...

Local Disk (C:) / Documents and Settings / Your Name /
Local Settings / Temporary Internet Files...

Deleting everything in the Temporary Internet Files
folder will eliminate the unwanted images...at least

Hi John - I went into Outlook Express: clicked on insert a pic: clicked on browse and found it in My Pictures: then I emailed it to another mailbox of mine: when I went to open it, the picture came up in "windows fax and picture viewer window" - but it also gave me other pictures of images from it seems my home page: the properties of the picture I wanted was C:Documents and Settings\my name\Local settings\temporary internet files\and the image - and was a JPG image.
All the unwanted images had properties of QTIP Player App GIF image using Quick Time Viewer: and was from the same C:location as the original picture.
I ran a disk cleanup and then I deleted all temp internet files as well as those unknown files and tried again but it happened again.
Then I tried it just by going right from the Start menu to my Pictures and right-clicked and sent it that way but the same thing happened. The one thing I did notice was that when I went into My Computer and looked at C:Documents and Settings\my name - I didn't see any Local Settings folder-- is it supposed to be there and maybe it was deleted by mistake - I don't know -- HELP!! -Sarah

It will always happen again if you continue surfing. The
only way you can view an image on the net is for it to
be downloaded to your temp files. Or maybe all the files
were not deleted...

If you do not see...**Local Settings / Temporary Internet
Files**...Go to...My Computer / Tools / Folder Options /
View tab...Tick the "Show hidden files and folders" radio
button...Apply / OK...

If you go to a folder that contains image files...
My Pictures...for example...when you view them from
there in your Windows Picture and Fax Viewer...you
will not see the temporary files.
