The free PowerToy TweakUI has an option
to change the time per picture.

Windows XP PowerToys / free download

After TweakUI is downloaded and installed...
open it and go to...Explorer / Slide Show...

FYI...1000 = 1 second.

He did say simple not a difficult way. My way takes a few seconds - yours a few minutes.

In pcsst had this to say:

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:
Is there a way to change the speed on the slide show function.?

www.xnview.com - it's not the answer you expected probably but it's what I
use for setting a slide show on a TV while there are folks here. I take a
lot of pics of the local scenery and when folks stop by I put it on a TV
while we're playing pool or what not and I'll turn on some music and let
them both run.
