Robert J. Lafayette

XP Home SP 2.

In start up mode, I am attempting to add my picture to my profile, going to
Control Panel, account settings.

To show a picture of me when I type in my password to enter Windows.

However, when I edited a picture to have only me, by cutting out my face,
the size of the resulting picture, either as JPG or BMP, is so small it can
not be seen after I load it onto the 'add/ change picture'.

By the way, a teensy tiny picture in BMP format takes up 32MB!
While the same size JPG picture is 350KB.

I attempted to make the cut out picture of me larger using software, cutting
me from a picture of several persons,

but that seems to not make any difference when I load the cut out section
onto Windows Control Panel. The size is tiny, tiny.

How can I load a properly sized picture onto the Control Panel?

Sorry for the confusion,
Robert

Robert, for future reference, the user icons are 48x48 pixels. You want to
have at least that many in the image you plan to use. XP will automatically
resize a larger picture for this use but it can't resize one that is
smaller.
