Consumer Reports gives a high rating to Picture It 9.0 Premimum ($130). One of the features they illustrate is the ability to remove objects and have the program fill in the background -- the illustration is an eye-popping example in which a bird on a rock is erased, with the rock and the folliage behind it are rather convincingly filled in! This is described as a one-click feature

While my expectations are realistic, this is a feature I'd love to acquire. But I don't need the many other features mentioned, including preparation of web pages, albums, etc. I just want the photo editing features.

When I go to Amazon.com, I find Picture It 9.0 (not premium) offered at about $30. Can any one tell me if that version includes the full editing package? I'm on a limited budget, so can't afford to get the regular version with the risk of having to upgrade to get the one feature I want.

Thanks for any help on this premium vs. non-premium features issue

For the advanced editing features, you need to
purchase Digital Image Pro 9 or Digital Image
Suite 9.

BTW, if you are unhappy with your purchase...

John -

Thanks for the response -- I followed your links and clearly want the Digital Image 9 Pro, which has the editing feature, but not the suite, which adds photo organizing tools which I don't need

FYI, the link from product information on Digital Image 9 Pro via the 'Buy It" button has a glitch -- the link is not to bu
the Digital Image 9 Pro, but to the Picture It! 9.0 -- The reasons I'm sure this is an error are 1) the name difference and 2) the price. I called Comp USA, my local software store. They have Digital Image 9 Pro (and describe the box shown there). They checked twice, and confirmed that Digital Image 9 Pro is about $100; even with a rebate the price doesn't get down to $49. (It's unlikely MS would undersell retail outlets). Unless fixed, this will result in ordering confusion for others who, like me, want the more advanced editing tools

If you check and find I'm wrong on this -- and I can really get the Digital Image 9 Pro for about $49, please let me know

Thanks for reporting the error on the DIP9 page.

If you watch the sales ads in your local Sunday
newspaper, you can sometimes find DIP9 for
a better price. I can recall seeing it on sale as
low as $49.99 after rebates.

I have no experience purchasing online from
the companies at the following link, but maybe
one of them would be worth a try.

Hi Don...

I have reported the error you discovered on the
DIP9 site and BTW...if you use the link in the left
column, it works correctly. There are also links
for printable rebate coupons.
