Picture in picture but longer?

I was wondering if it is possible to get a video to play reduced in size in front of a
static backdrop? I can get the PIP hold to do it but only for 5 seconds max.

I have some video to insert but I don't want them full screen and would like a picture
behind it.

I have all the Pixel spice packs.

Check the example video I have on the Editing > Video > Effects page of my
website.... click on the image of the 2 fiddlers about 1/2 way down the
page. It's a bit tricky but do-able.

It's a video over video but you can do the same thing with a video over a
still picture.

I did see that yesterday but could not figure it out. Thanks for the page BTW.
Could you give a bit more guidance? So you can only use one transition between
each pic but you can use multiple effects in each pic?

Thanks.

Yes, you can only have one transition between two clips. If you add a second
one to the first, it'll just replace it. But you can apply up to 6 special
effects to each clip.... they can be the same effect applied 6 times, or 6
different effects.... any combo you wish. And you can change the sequence of
how they are applied. The possibilities are endless.

On the fiddler sample, the background clip is just the usual one. The
smaller inset clip was zoomed out of, using Virtual Dub, and the resultant
frame around it was made a single color so it could he set to being
transparent. Then the clip was overlapped with the first one... about a 99%
overlap so they are essentially playing at the same time. The zoomed out
smaller one was in the middle of the monitor, so I used the Pixelan pan/zoom
effects to move it to and along the bottom.

There's another similar example on the Do Amazing Things > Part I > Add
Visual Effects > and finally click on the Focus item image to go to the page
with a video of two of my grand-daughters playing Peppermint Patti. I think
I explained it more thoroughly there.

You can add more than one transition between clips by expanding the timeline, cut before or after the first inserted transition. You now have a new place to put in anothere transition. You can do this at-will as many times as you want. Just keep cutting before or after the transition on the fully or near fully expanded timeline

Thanks. I will try and work with what you have provided.

But it appears you DO have to use a custom transition, correct?
It is not possible with plain WMM2?
