You mean the blue Splash Screen?
You can't change it, but you can remove it.

Which picture?

My Windows Mail has never had such a feature.
Are you sure it's Windows Mail rather than Windows Live Mail?

-- yeah it's windows mail because i'm using home edition vista, live mail if
u're using higher version such as ultimate, in ultimate u can easily change
the picture of ur mail log-in

jonex,

what is the picture that you have displayed at log-in now?
Just so that we are sure, I don't want to give you the wrong advice.

Dunno then.
With my WM the only "Picture" is the splash that appears briefly when
starting.
I'm waiting on a way to stop that.

I can't remember such a scenario.
I use the password save facilty
that bypasses that window.

If you set Windows Live mail as the default mail application, when you click
on "mail" in the menu, vista opens IE pointed to the WindowsLiveMail url,
that´s where you have (on the left) a custom image that you can modify using
Windows Live Messenger (if you use it with that email account associated to
the login passport). Other possible way to customize that picture may be
somewhere in Live.com options (i supose the second ´cause never done it).
