picture comes in as a jpeg but will only save as a bitmap

when i try to save a picture to a floppy or cd rom it
states that it is a jpeg photo, yet when i try to save
it, i can only save it as a bitmap photo. this just
started happening as of today and i can't find info on
how to correct this problem.

Deleting your temp and temporary internet files
solves this problen when trying to save an image
from the web but I don't know if it applies to your issue.

If you have a photo program such as Photoshop, can open

the .bmp pic, then from the "file" menu, do a "save as"
or "save a copy". These usually give you the options of
saving as a JPEG or other file extension. When I add text
to a JPEG file, it automatically saves it as a .bmp file,
then I have to do a "save as" to get it back to JPEG.
