Hi,
Running Vista and Windows Mail, I don't receive the picture attachments in
the body of the e-mail. Only the small square with the 3 symbols appears. I
already checked the DETAILS of the message and my AVAST virus program checked
the message as being OK.
Any ideas what's wrong here. This isn't just happening once; it's all the
time since I went to Windows Mail.

It's a great day!

Did you enable attachments?
Tools, Options, Security, uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."
Also uncheck the next box, "Block images..."

Both boxes are not checked, that is "Do not allow attachments ..." and "Block
images and other ..."

I need to clarify something. I do receive i.e. .jpg pictures that are in the
Attachment. What I don't receive is imbedded pictures wihin e-mails - they
are NOT attachments.
Sorry for the confusion.

Is it possible that the sender is not actually including the images
but is only including a URL link to the images?
Look at the source code of the message (Ctrl-F3). Is there a
large amount of hexadecimal code, or does it look like text intermingled
with HTML tags? The size of the message is also a clue as to whether
images were actually included.

They are either referencing pictures on a Web site or pictures on their hard
drive and not including the picture itself.

For WinMail and Outlook Express (and probably Wondows Live Mail, all have
the same programming team) go to Tools | Options | Send. In HTML Settings
under Mail they should make sure the box to Send pictures with messages" is
checked.
