This kind of "motion path" animation effect was first introduced in
PowerPoint 2002. If you are using PowerPoint 2002 or PowerPoint 2003 and
you do not see this option (Custom Animation task pane) you might have
inadvertently turned of the advanced animation features. To turn them on,
do the following:
1) Tools -> Options
2) Switch to the "Edit" tab
3) Uncheck the "New animation effects" option in the "Disable new features"
section, and
4) Click "OK"
There's lots of built-in help topics about using motion paths, so just
search in the help file for "motion path" to get a list of topics.
Also, there are 3 online training modules for animation in PowerPoint which
includes a module just about motion paths (Module 2). You can access this
