Yep, 2 Terabytes it is!

Bear in mind that actually comes down to 1.86 TB because of the old "how big is a gig really" argument, then because of the RAID5 you loose 25% so actual disc space is 1,395GB.

I've got about 0.9TB left at the moment, but it fluctuates massively depending on what work I've got on at the time.

It's a great bit of kit, self supporting, no external O/S requirements, and links over a FireWire800 port. I used to be like you and need a huge case to stick all the drives in, plus a RAID card, and because it was integral to the PC it couldn't be moved. But with the LaCie system you just unplug it, and stick it on to another machine, either at FW800 or USB2.0
