I had some stupid Print Shop Pro thing on my computer and the trial time
ended...Apparently when I opened something once in an email (picture
download)...I said "dont ask me again" and now when i go to to open ANY
pictures from emails, it opens with this paint shop pro thing. However, the
trial has ended and im forced to buy, so i always cancel out of it, without
being able to see any pictures. I've managed to work around it, but Im in
real estate and NEED pictures in my email. Can someone help me find a new
picture program to use and let me know how to re-route the picture opening
process to some other program? Thanks

When you decide which program you wish
to open your images with...all you have to
do is change your image associations. The
following instructions explain how:
(at the end...you'll find links to three free
programs you can use to view your images)

====
Have a look at this article:

(307859) HOW TO: Change File Associations
in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307859

More info:

Try this...open an image folder and right click one
of your image files...from the menu, select...Open
With / Choose Program.

Make your choice from the list or Browse to the
correct program if it is not in the list.

If you want the default...choose..."Windows
Picture and Fax viewer"

Once you make your selection...be sure to check
the box that says: "Always use the selected program
to open this kind of file". (you will need to do this
for each format....jpg, .tif, .gif...etc.)

Also...you can right click an image and choose
Properties / Change Button...choose the program
you wish to use and click...OK / Apply / OK.

Also...in WinXP, you can go to...My Computer /
Tools / Folder Options / File Types tab...

John: isn't it rather naughty, foisty and sheer poor practice for a demo
download program to inflict such consternation on an end user?

This must be an ultimate example of push marketing/screw the user we
want their money?

I'll put my name to this one

Not really, I'm sure the install dialog gives
the user a choice of whether or not the
program will be the default editor/viewer.
In this case...the OP overlooked it.

As for the nag screen...no biggie...just
uninstall the program.

Bottom line...when installing software...
read all the dialog so you will know what
to expect.
