I seem to have a problem in Task Manager or something is
eating up my RAM or I don't understand how Task Manager
reports Physical Memory under the performance tab. I have
130K RAM memory. Performance is reporting as an example:
Total 130528
Available 15332
System Cache 43408

I am under the impression that Available and System Cache
should add up to the Total??

Can anyone help me with this. My PC seems to be running
OK. I just purchased the latest version on Norton and
have scanned for a virus. All appears to be clear.

You have 128 Meg of ram. That works out to be 130528K of ram which you
see as "Total"
"System cache" is being used by the system to hold disk reads etc.
"Available" is what you have left to use that is not occupied by
programs presently running.

Is there anyway to increase the System Cache size so that
if a session needs the memory, it will use this cache
area?
Also if the system cache area can be increased, will this
eliminate (or reduce) the amount of hard page faults?

Steve

You may be able to fiddle with it, but your time and money ahead to just
slap another 128 meg in it, and let it manage it for you.
