I have created a slideshow for my sons wedding. It runs perfect on my
computer in Windows Media Player but when I hook up a projector, the
slideshow itself is not visible, however the Windows Media Player itself and
the controls are visible. I have upgrade WMP to Version 10 - still nothing.
I am running Window XP Pro.

Wayne,
it seems that your graphics adapter is set to the wrong output format.
Check within the XP display settings to find the advanced configuration
and perhaps try to find special settings for secondary output channel.

Generally it is just the matter of disabling the "Use Overlys" feature
of hardware acceleration from the Advanced dialog accessed via
Tools->Options->Performance->Video Acceleration.

Most secondary displays do not support the hardware overlays.

Otherwise you may have to decrease or disable the hardware acceleration
altogether.
