Thanks for the bad news. I also had a bit more bad news about this printer -
The ink cartridges are $74 each - Wow. Think I'll just put it back on my
Spare Parts shelf.
Thanks DF

The cartridges are $35.99 USD at www.hp.com. If you are being quoted $74 each
I hope it is in a currency other then US Dollars....

On the other hand, better print quality can be had on many of the recent photo
printers, some that cost under $100 such as the Photosmart 7150 or 7260. The
original Photosmart came out about 6 years ago and things have progressed quite
a bit in those years. The droplet size for the #57 & 59 cartridges used in the
recent Photosmart printers is about 1/5 the size of those in the #844/845
cartridges used in the original photosmart.

Bob Headrick, not speaking for my employer HP

Thanks for the info Bob.
The Dollars are Canadian funds and that price does not include our
rediculous taxes. 8% provincial Tax plus 7% GST Tax.
I think I'll get a new printer. Cheaper in the long run and as you say -
Better quality.
Thanks again.
Ron

PS - Even though you are not talking for HP - I will get another HP. My real
old 712c is still working Great - Bought it in late 1998.

If that lot put's you off then don't come to live here in Ireland,
our VAT is 21%, your only paying a total of 15%, to me that's cheap.
However the price of new cartridges is as you say rediculous.

It does make better sense to just get a new printer when you run
out.:-(

Hey Jonathan
What does the VAT satnd for ?

I think most governments are making taxes way too high. They always talk
about improving the economy but when taxes are so high I'm sure it stops a
lot of people from buying products etc.
