Heya guys! long time no speak ;)

Thought i'd pop in and ask y'all a quick question.

Basically I have a slight problem, for my A level in Art to be its ultimate best, i need to include digital photo's of my work and have a play around with them ( like with contrasts and things). At school we use Photoshop, when i searched the Adobe site, i could find like one package costing £400?!

I would like a a program like Photoshop for my computer at home, too eaze things up at school. My teacher said you can buy Photoshop for like £50 or summin, where can i buy it for that? I only need to play around with colours and stuff so i wont need the WHOLE package :p and i dont really wanna spend £400 on it!

Or is there a free version somewwher out there? Thanks alot!

Think you can download photoshop free for a month or something if my memory serves me right....They may have shortened it to 14 days now but hey give it a go...

Would you think giving this a go would be a bad idea?

mucks edit: ... and again.

:P
Yes, definitely a bad idea  I'm pretty sure it will just for you to sign up for spam, and thats all.

Try some free things, you can get a free trial of Macromedia Fireworks for 30 days.

The best option might be Google Picasa, its free and will let you do most things :D

Just tried that Picasa! good stuff! :)

one question, i cant seem to put one image over another, is it even possible? :p

Just having a quick play with it atm, not bad at all considering it costs squat! :D

yeh that is another thing, im expected to put Pics over other pics, and stuff like that, need too print off Thumbnails too show my working and how i got to where i was :p

Shall i just buy a Photoshop, can you get it for £50 at like a retial store or summin?

Thanks :) G-MAN

i think your teacher may be talking about photoshop elements, its a cheaper more user friendly version

hmm i downloaded the free version, when it expires will i get the option to buy it?

Also do you think because i am a student, i could send them an email explaining my situation and get it for free? Probs tightasses but worth a shot? :P

G~MAN

to use it after the trial expires you'll have to buy it, writing to them will be a waste of time, there is only one way to get it for free but we can't discuss that

Have you looked at Serif Photo Plus? You can work with layers, etc., with that. Version 6 is free to download and keep (providing you register.) Version 8 is only £6, Version 10 is currently £29.99 (save 50%) The most recent Version is 11, but that costs £59.99 Serif's free software website is here

Hmm is it possible to get a free Serial Key, or will i need to get my parents to spend £70 for this program. I do like it though tbh, exactly like school, but newer and better looking. Also ALOT faster on my computer :p
