Hello All,After several years I'm stuffed on opening P'shop 7 now. When I
open it,after the loading and 'authors' preamble I get this message;
"You currently have Adobe Photoshop's primary Scratch and Window's primary
paging file on the same volume, which can result in reduced performance. It is
recommended that you set Adobe Photoshop's primary Scratch volume to be on a
different volume, preferably on a different physical drive," ...and a boxed OK
to click.
I click 'OK' and a boxed error message comes up that informs me "X Unable to
continue because of a hardware or system error.Sorry but this error is
unrecoverable. Quit."
"Quit".Not a very encouraging dialogue there for me. As one who is pretty
helpless when it comes to the guts and workings of computers, the above error
messages are near enough meaningless for me to act on. On an astrophoto forum
a lad suggested I run a 'scan disk' check for 'bad sectors'(I think it was)
which transformed 'My Pictures' to open at lightning speed whereas before it
crawled to perform,...if at all. I'd already 'uninstalled' P'shop when I did
that. Today I 'installed' it again. And again when it still wouldn't open.
Same thing. No joy!
Any ideas anyone?
Cheers,
