Photoshop Deluxe Home Edition Ver 3.1

I wanted to install the subject software on my Toshiba
with Win XP Home Edition but a message said: Your MS NT
Ver 4 system currently has an older MS Servide Pak. You
need to install MS Service Pak 3 and then insert the
Photoshop disc and select the Internet Explorer
installation from the custom install menu. Has anyone
tried this and did it work? Does the Microsoft Win XP
picture software do the same thing as Photoshop 3.1?

It just might be that this version is incompatible with XP or IE6. Have
you taken this up with Adobe? You can try to install with NT
compatibility mode in XP. In Help and Support, type in "compatibility
mode" for instructions. However, I would plunk down $49.00 for
Photoshop Elements 2.0 (Amazon, Sam's Club, etc). Photoshop itself is
now version 7 AIRC. Elements is very powerful but without all of the
professional-level plugins and functions.
