no They are not i deleted thinking I had them in the computer. I don't
understand because as I was viewing them I was touching them up and pushing
the save button to replace the orginal picture that I had taken. I know it
is probably hopeless. Thank you for your help anyway.

Maybe you were viewing the files on
the memory card and never actually
downloaded them to your hard drive.

The software at the following link
might help you recover the files from
your memory card.

Please turn off your caps lock...it makes your
message hard to read.

If the camera shows up as removable drive "J"...yes.

Or...you may need to use a card reader, have a look
at PC Inspector Smart Recovery FAQ:

Question: Can I recover my pictures direct from the
digital camera?

I have no info about using Media Center but
the main thing is...after you go through the
steps to download your images...disconnect
the camera and open the folder you downloaded
them into and be sure thay are on your hard drive
before you delete them from the memory card.

Once you are positive that your files are saved
in a folder on your hard drive...then you can
proceed to edit them.

Actually, the best - safest method is to download
the image files to a folder on your hard drive and
then open the folder in your image editing program.
This way you always retain the original images
in case you need them...also be sure to save the
edited images to a different folder or under a new
name so they don't overwrite the originals. Burning
a copy of the un-edited originals on a CD is good
insurance also.

Sorry about the caps lock. I did all you have told me to and no luck.
Thanks again for your time and I will probably never view my photos with the
media center again. I am so sick over the whole thing but they were only
photos not lost life. So I will always have the memories. Thanks again for
all your help.

Just wondering...did the PC Inspector Smart
Recovery software find anything on the memory
card?

For a more pleasant digital photography experience...

1) Always copy image files from the media card to a subdirectory on the
computer's hard disk
2) Verify that the images are present on the hard disk
3) Make a second copy to another disk (and verify) before deleting the
images from the media. This could be to another hard disk or a CD.
4) Make any crops/corrections/etc. to the images on the hard disk and
save them using new names (for example, append something to the end
of the image name)

For some reason, these basic procedures are not often explicitly stated,
with the result that some have to learn them the hard way.
