Hello all,
I am thinking of submitting some digital images for publication.

Many publishers say that they "accept images in digital format *for Mac*".

I usually save my images as .jpg or .gif files.

What difference does it make as far as viewing the images that I submit for
a Mac versus a PC since I use a PC?

Thanking all in advance.
Eddy

jpg's are the same for Mac or Pc, but Mac tends to display them brighter, so
when it's right for a Mac, it may look a bit dark on a PC.

so therefore use the "web safe" colour palette, and you're bound to see
colours more or less the same across both platforms.

The "web safe" palette only applies in practice to .gifs. Have you
ever looked at a colour photo' limited to 250 distinct colours? Or
set your monitor to 256 colours to view photo's?

I believe this has more to do with the different monitor gamma of Macs and PCs.

One of my contributors said that this is what it is. She was sending me
stuff that was too dark, so I checked my site statistics and told her that
only a small percentage of my readers use Macs, so she started adjusting the
photos for PC. As far as I can tell, most digital cameras are set to the PC
standard.
