Hi "Macltd4",
I use the method described by TAJ, the MVP, with a slight difference to
avoid the risk of distortion he warns you about:
INSERT| NEW SLIDE | FORMAT | BACKGROUND | click on arrow for dropdown menu |
select FILL EFFECTS | PICTURE tab | click SELECT PICTURE | click on the name
of the desired picture | INSERT | now the important bit.....check "Lock
Aspect Ratio" | OK | APPLY.
There is a warning attached to this too: Although the picture will not be
distorted, part of it may be cut off, but I've never seen enough of that to
worry about.
As TAJ says: "PHEW!"............ It does seem at first a bit longwinded,
but with a little practice it soon speeds up.
Good Luck.

: That depends how you are inserting them.
:
: If you are using the
:
: Insert menu > picture > from file method
:
: then you just resize them using the 'corner handles' of the inserted
: picture.
:
: Or you could use the other method
:
: Format menu > background > click the down arrow > fill effects > picture
: (browse for your picture by clicking 'select picture') > select it > ok
: (phew!)
:
: Then it will fit the screen as best it can based on the proportions of
your
: picture. Which may mean distorting it to fit.
