I have inadvertently downloaded (and subsequently deleted) direct from camera
after taking photos in multi burst mode (have just brought the camera!) and
have 16 frames in file - how can I reduce it to one to copy to CD for
printing?

=============================
What format is this file in?

Might be worth a try to see if IrfanView
can extract the frames.

Download IrfanView 3.95

(get the plug-ins too)

Tell us what kind of camera you have so we can help.
Here is a general answer.
If you place a camera in multi burst mode, each "burst" is a picture and is
a separate file. So you have 16 pictures and 16 files. There is no way to
combine them into one file. You need to select the one you want and print
it, or copy it to a CD to take to a commercial lab for printing.
So, in your folder, you should see 16 files, something like this:
PICT00001.jpg
PICT00002.jpg
etc.
Just select the one you want.
You should check your camera manual for the quality of the files when you
use this mode. Many cameras will reduce file quality in this mode. This is
fine if you look at the picture on your computer screen, but not great when
you print.
