This may not be the correct place to post but I am
starting my own website and would like to know how to make
my pictures load faster. I raise and show mini horses and
have the website for that purpose. I am using
homestead.com and their help/support is not very helpful
any help in this matter would be appreciated

Web images do not have to be hi-res. They will perform adequately at 72 dpi. If you
have an image editing program, resample your images down. This will help in loading
your pages faster. Using thumbnails and providing hyperlinks to a larger image is
good too.

Walt,

The resolution of the image makes no difference, it is
the file size, and if saving as a JPG, the compression
you need to worry about.

A photo editing package (PaintshopPro, Photoshop, etc...)
will allow you to resize the image and set the
compression when saving the picture.

Regards,

Steve

The resolution can make a big difference - It takes more bytes to have
800x600x32bit then to have 800x600*16

Ok, testing beats theory...The image size makes the difference not the
color depth...
Please ignore the man behind the curtain....
