photos not showing up

I placed my images/photos in my web's images folder, then inserted them via
that path... yet they still show up as a red "x" in the preview mode.

Any thoughts/ideas on how to fix this? I've even started all over from
scratch to see if it was some default setting I'd messed up. I haven't had
this problem in the past.

Thanks for any replies.

Did you Import them into the Images folder? (Dunno what you mean by
"place" - you have to Import or Drag/Drop)

Yes, the images were drag/dropped to the image file.

I can see them in "Normal" mode, but not in Preview... that's where the red
"x"'s are.

Did you actually have a web created and open before you dragged and dropped
them inside FrontPage?

I haven't published the site to the web yet... otherwise, I'd be glad to. Is
there anything else I could provide that would be helpful?

A bit of code that shows where the images reside. I'll bet they are still on
your hard drive.

hum, i guess i figured it out...

I had to change them from .jpg and .tif files to .gif files.

Are .gif the only ones that work?

Hi,

..jpg's work as well..and to a lesser degree...png's Are you sure the
original file extension ended with .jpg? If the original image was a
"photographic type" changing it to a .gif probably degraded it quite a bit.
