Photos megapixel size delivered to TV?

Does anyone know the quality in megapixels sent to the TV when retrieving
photos using a media extender and XP 2005 media edition? I have a 5 meg canon
and the pictures show up very grainy at the TV. I suspect that the hardware
and software are not delivering the total picture.

It is much more likely to be the result of the low resolution of TV
pictures. There are 525 horizontal lines and 400 or so vertical ones.

Thanks but I'm running an HDTV so should have plenty of resolution at 1080i.
have read abouta Roku Labs box that allows better dellivery of the pictures
and will investigate more. Does anyone have an idea of how it works?
