I recently took all of my pictures off of my digital
camera and put them into MY PICTURES folder and would
like to move them to a zip disk. But when I do this I
can't see my pictures because it has a .fpx extension.
How do I change this extension to a .jpg file?

Hi,

Apparently, you have a Kodak camera. The following
info is copied directly from the Kodak support site:

Question:

Is there any type of software available for me to
convert the files to JPEG so I can open them with
the Kodak EasyShare software?

You might want to consider a third party software
program (there are several that are free from the
web). Some KODAK Camera owners have noted
that Thumbs Plus, Adobe Activeshare and Web
Technologies Irfanview will allow you to open the
KDC format and save those files as JPG (the
most popular format today). We understand these
are very nice programs (though not supported or
specifically recommended by Kodak) that will help
you use the older file formats with more current
operating systems. Some of our customers have
said that they understand the Irfanview program
will also open K25 files.

Tami....the excellent freeware IrfanView can be
downloaded from the following site. It has the
capability to do a batch format conversion.

IrfanView 3.85
http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967.html
(get the plug-ins too)

I downloaded the IrfanView 3.85 and it did fine for the
first few pictures now I am getting nothing saved except
for lines. It opens the picture fine but then when I
save it I get these lines instead of the picture. Any
suggestions?

I have not see this issue reported with IrfanView.
Maybe you need to run DiskCleanup to delete your
Temp and Temporary Internet files.
