Do PhotoShop compatible filters work with PhotoFiltre? I've not tried it
yet, but I am looking for a good photo processor.

The GIMP can handle photoshop filters... (well it handls the ones I have)

hi

For now, It does not. Photofiltre has its own plug-in format.
I can imagen it is alreday requested for serveral times.
If I read the sourcecode of the plugins correctly (there are a few at the
bottem of the plugin page with sourcecode) It would mean a whole new
graphics system. But I'm not a delphi Wizard (thanks to this newsgroup I
just downloaded 6PE) and I only have basic knowledge of Turo Pascal (Back in
the days of the sable-tooth-tiger ;-) )

If the Gimp is too much of a load for you (I know it is for me) you could
try:

Name: Nigulp
Vers: 1.5
Auth: sigmapi-design
Plat: Win32
Site: http://www.sigmapi-design.com/freeware.htm or for download
http://www.sofotex.com/NiGulp-download_L15013.html
PLic: Freeware
BLic: Freeware
Info:
NiGulp Publisher's Description:
Explore and execute PhotoShop compatible plugin filters (8BF) over desired
image. All popular image formats supported (GIF, JPEG, TARGA, BMP, TIFF,
JPEG2000, PCX, PNG...).Use various selection types, add current selection to
previous selections, invert selection...Apply plugin filter to complete
image or desired selection, save your artworkin various image formats, zoom
in/out, undo...

Personaly, I still prefer Adobe Photoshop and Paintshop Pro or even
fireworks (In that order) as they can handle almost or all plugins.

Sill 8bf plugin compatiblity would be a nice addition to photofiltre. I'll
ask Antonio sometime

yes, It works if you dont have a language plugin, otherwise I recomand to
delete the *.plg en photofiltre.exe files before installing.

It is something I will adress to Antonio...

Don't worry about deleting the files, Photofiltre does not use the registry,
and if the inifile is configured correctly, it can even run from cd...

What is 6PE?

Rob

Borland Delphi 6 Personal Edition.
*The* freeware (or rather registerware) Pascal platform for windows

Strangely enough, It isn't aviable through the boreland site anymore, but
you can still register it... You just have to find it (the adress (if still
applicable) is still in a earlier thread)

Antonio told me he uses also delphi 6 to create photofiltre, so I do have
all ingredients to create my own plug-ins except for a current knowledge of
Delphi :-(

a trivial detail, no doubt easily remedied ;)
