Photo transfer

This may be better aimed at a photo discussion group, but here goes. Does
anyone know if it is possible to move photos from your computer to the photo
card for a digital camera? I want to put some photos on my camera, and then
using A/V out to play them on a TV.
 
If you have a card reader for the memory card it seems there shouldn't be a
problem as long as the files the camera creates are in the same format.

I wouldn't think one would need a card reader, just hook up the camera and
drag and drop them back.
 
I don't have any experience with camera to computer hookup; just my Motorola
cell phone with a camera. The software designed to make it able to
communicate image files with the computer doesn't work. I think Qwest, my
service provider blocked the coding. So I got a card reader and use it to
connect the 710 cell phone memory card to my computer. The phone creates
jpg files so the format is useable.

Hi,

It depends on the camera, the card system used, and the software you have
available. Photos taken on one camera may not display properley if copied
back to a different brand or model of camera. I've had that problem between
different Canon P&S cameras.

Suggest you re-post the question to rec.photo.digital and give the specific
details of your camera(s) and what software you have available.
Alternatively, just try it, the worst that happens is youhave a corrupt file
on your card, which you then re-format and start again, it's not exactly
going to break anything.
 
I find I don't have any problem as long as the images haven't been modified
in any way, as, if the header information has been altered, the card won't
accept them back. (Or if it does, the camera won't display them).

It's an old Olympus, with no computer connection - I have to use a card
reader.
