What steps are you using to burn the
..wmv file on the CD and how are you
trying to play it?

im saving it as a WMV file in documents and then burning it on to disc with
windows media player. Then playing it both my dvd players AND my sons PS2 and
each time I get great sound quality and no pictures at all.
Thanks in advance for your help on this.

It will probably never play on the PS2 but
for your DVD players you might have better
luck if you create a VCD with your .wmv file.
(most DVD players are compatible with VCDs...
check your player's documentation)

There are many programs capable of creating
a VCD but Photo Story 3 does not have the
option.

Check the documentation for your burner...
you may have software installed that can
create a VCD. My burner came with a Program
called WinDVD Creator by Intervideo...it
works nicely...and they play on my Toshiba
DVD player.

Here's some info on creating a VCD with
"MS Plus! SuperPack for Windows XP"
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/plus/photos.asp
There are also some sample Photo Stories
you can download.

A couple of other programs with the VCD
option are:

MS Digital Image 2006 Suite

Corel Photo Album 6
