Try to install PhotoStory 3 today and get message that says my copy of
Windows XP is not valid and it prevents the installation of the program. I
had this problem once before with service pack 2 but it seemed to resolve
itself. I bought the computer from a local builder and as far as I know my xp
software is in good standing. How do I get , or can I get past this
installation problem. I'm busting at the seams waiting to try out PhotoStory.
Can anyone help........ PLEASE ?

There's a link that says alternative check (or something like that). That usually works.

Tried this, says I'm no good. Anyway to get around this. As far as I know my
machine was bought in a main street electronics store where they build and
repair machines. How do you get photo story three to download and work
without going through all this BS?

Unless you have a valid copy of Windows XP
I don't think it's possible to install Photo Story 3.

Maybe you should be discussing this with the
shop that provided the software?

There's two ways to validate. I'm retail so I use a product ID but there is another way on that page. MS employees talk about "typing in manufacrurers name" into the alternative validation method.

just saw this, tried it on 11/16/04. Let me know if the door ever opens again
please.
Thanks for the heads up, I was away for a couple of weeks, now I'm kicking
myself in the A$$ because I love this program but it won't let me open it up
once I've downloaded it.
Oh well.... Let me know if the door ever opens or an alternet way pops up.

Thanks !

PhotoStory 3 is not an update...
it installs as a separate program.
