Frustrated movie maker

I have spent days creating a slide show for my parent's 50th anniversary in
Photo Story 3. I have some finishing touches to put on, but when I try to
open the project I am unable to. The dialog box states that there is not
enough disk space to open the folder. I have tried to free up disk space but
that didn't work.
I went ahead and copied the video to Movie Maker, and that did work,
however, I still can't seem to figure out how to make my final changes.
Photo Story is much easier for me to understand and work in, so my first
choice would be suggestions for how to open and edit my project.
Any suggestions?

PhotoStory 3 is limited to 300 images and
even less if you use lots of transitions and
motion effects. This may be the cause of
your problem.

Movie Maker imports the video as a single
file and the individual elements will not be
editable. However...you can split the video
( Ctrl+L) and remove or insert new elements.

If you could explain the changes you wish to
make...someone may offer advice on how to
do it in Movie Maker.

The following article may be worth a look:

Thanks. I will check out those links. Here's what I would like to do. If
I cannot get back into my project in PhotoStory, I'd like to add a few
pictures into the film in Movie Maker. The film clips already have songs
attached to them, which is why I can't put in random pictures.
How do I split a clip?
How do I mute the music that's attached and bring in the songs again in
Movie Maker so that there aren't interruptions in the music once I insert new
photos?

===================================
(keep scrolling...this is a long reply)

"Splitting A Clip In MM2.1"

Drag the video/audio clip to the
Timeline.

Play the video/audio by clicking the
"Play" button under the view screen.

You will see the Playback Indicator
(vertical line) advancing across the
timeline.

Click the "Pause" button at the point
where you wish to split and type...
Ctrl+L or click the "Split" button at the
bottom of the view screen.
(you can also make adjustments by
dragging the Playback Indicator)

Make as many splits as you want and
remove any unwanted clips by right
click / delete.

And...Movie Maker 2.1 only displays every
other frame. In order to see all frames, the
following info from PapaJohn may be useful:

===

Movie Maker 2 shows you every-other-frame
when doing project editing. MM1 and Movie
Maker in Vista show you each frame.

It's usually not a problem when skipping over
the in-between frames, but sometimes you
notice a flickering frame in a clip that is a 'stray',
and you can't see or cut it out.

If you apply the Slow - Down - Half video effect
to a clip in the timeline, you are then seeing
each frame rather than every other one. You
can see the problem frame and split it out.
Then remove the effect from the clip to return
it to normal.
===================================
How do I mute the music that's attached and bring in the songs again
in Movie Maker so that there aren't interruptions in the music once I
insert new photos?
===================================
In timeline view...if you drag a copy of the
video to the Audio/Music track...it will be
separate from the Video track just as any
audio file would be.

Now you can right click / Mute the Video
track. You may have to remove small sections
of the video to compensate for the duration
of the still shots.

Have fun.
