When I create a new story and click on the "import picture" button I expect
the file browser window to appear but the application disappears with no
errors. The strange part of this issue is that I am able to drag and drop
pictures on to the story board.
I looked at the event view under the application tab and did not see any
errors. I also re-installed the software twice. Can someone please help...

I would suspect you may have a problem with
your video driver. It may be worth a try to reduce
your Graphics Hardware Acceleration...if this
helps it's a strong indication that you need to
update your video driver.

And it may be a good idea to do some regular
maintenance:

Running Disk Cleanup, Error Checking and
Defrag on a regular schedule is a good idea.

(check the two boxes..."Automatically fix file
system errors" and "Scan for and attempt
recovery of bad sectors") the utility will run
the next time you restart your computer.
(run error checking repeatedly until it finds
no errors)

Just wondering...are you running any of
the following programs?

Stardock's Icon Packager
Replay TV Software
Veritas Netbackup Professional backup
eFax Messenger Plus
AdsGone Popup Killer
Adobe PhotoShop or Elements

Hi John,

Thanks for your reply. I figured it out, I used Norton's Go Back
application then re-installed microsoft media player 10 and then Photo Story
3. After I did this it worked.

Thanks,
dc

If you reverted your drive with Norton GoBack...
there could have been other issues that were
corrected also. I have my doubts that WMP10
was the culprit. Never-the-less...you solved the
problem and I thank you for the update.
