Does anyone know of a good source for photo-quality inkjet ink in bulk for
refilling cartridges? I have my doubts as to the quality of the ink
supplied in the Ko-Rec-Type refilling kits, etc.
Optimally I'd like Hewlett-Packard ink, but I'm flexible as long as it's
good. I'd be after Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow.

I've excellent success refilling Canon cartridges with ink from
http://alotofthings.com/ They use ink mfg'd by Formulabs. Be sure to check
out formulabs.com web site as well. Any doubts you may have about either the
vendor or the ink should be put to rest.

Also, ALOTOFTHINGS uses formulalabs ink in most of their refill
cartridges. Email support to make sure your model is supported if you
decide on refills or go with the bulk if you dont need new cartridges

I use www,inkjetsusa.com
They get there Inks for Image Specialists, I understand they have been
in ink business for over 31 years. I do know the out put is better
than Formulabs any day of the week, I have used both.

With those prices, you may as well buy original cartridges. sheeeesh.
How long have you worked for them? Im guess you are to push that
expensive shit. As far as output, formula labs is an exact match. I
can not see the output of your inks be any better than a match to the
original.

Could I do a suggestion? I suggest not to qualify inks from the ink
manufacturer. Different inks from the same manufacturer have some times
hudge quality differences...

On the other hand, resellers frequently change suppliers, or buy from more
than one manufacturer.

Do you know that, for 6 months, a biggest US ink manufacturer was producing
totaly rubbish inks, they were sold from the biggest US resellers, without
most end users to understand anything???

I would suggest to Mike Graham, to buy from specialized shops (they know
what they sell and depends on from what they sell), and to buy from nearest
local market (Mike, preferably opposit of your home).

That's why it's important that the manufacturers who are known for
consistently high quality be named, not hidden. One of the purposes of this
newsgroup is the free interchange of helpful information. When a users
provide feedback, either positive or negative, then others benefit from
their experiences.

No, and if you have such important inside information, why don't you share
it with the rest of us?

Do you really think a small neighborhood shop, if one even exists, would
have any better quality products or prices than what's available on the net?
I'd think those guys would be the ones supplying the univeral one size fits
all ink available from dubious sources.

I just posted a reply recommending alotofthings.com, then I saw that you are
posting from Canada. Unfortunately, they don't ship to Canada, but
http://www.atlanticinkjet.com/ also supplies Formulabs ink and has a
Canadian location.

I just ordered ink from them. Thanks. I've used the black Ko-Rec-Type
ink, and I'm not delighted with it. It's fine and dandy for text, but for
the photographic stuff I want good ink. I ordered black and colour from
Atlantic. Thanks again, eh?

Sorry, I cannot say more because one of them is one of my supplier. I
insist,
judge the retailers not the ink manufacturers. But even this, it's a
difficult task.
Think only this; for a few months some of the biggest ink retailers in US
were
selling not only bad quality inks, but totally rubbish inks. They knew that,
and
continue selling them. None of them took care about it!!!
May a end user having a HP printer threw away some "bad" cartridges. But,
many users having Canon or Epson printers threw away some "bad"
printheads or "bad" printers.
I never ever conclude in an opinion if I don't use an ink set for more than
six
months.

I really think it. Small neighborhood shops COULD have better quality than
bigger ones. Of course there are exceptions. I don't mean those that sell
universal type of ink. E.g. if your printer broke, you can go for a repair
either
to HP or to your local electronic repairing shop. Both cases have advantages
and disadvantages. Alotofthings is one of the not known companies that do
fair work (even if not "shiny").
