Thanks in advance and I hope this isn't too much OT.

I am looking for a place on the net to post some photos so that family can
view and download.

Again thanks,

Dave H.

There are both free website you can place a whole site with pictures on,
but there are also free photo sites you only have to upload pictures to.

For the first one, you might already have a place at your internet provider
(just check with them) There are also a lot of free webspace providers out
ther, but i'm not the one who could advise you in this, since I pay for my
site.

For the later one, i'd suggest http://fotopic.net/ It is one of the very
view galleries not limiting the display time for the free account users.

You can have a limited amount of space for free to display your photos.
When you want to have more pix in the albums, or more albums, then
additional unlimited space cost is cheap.

http://groups.msn.com/home

MSN Groups are Web sites (A page or group of pages accessible through
the World Wide Web) where you can go to share common interests and
interact with others online. Visiting, joining, and creating groups is
free of charge. You must sign in with a Microsoft .NET Passport (An
online service that makes it possible for you to use your e-mail
address and a single password to sign in to any Passport-participating
Web site or service.) account in order to create and join groups. With
MSN Groups you can:

Visit and join existing groups that interest you.
Create your own custom group. As the manager of your group, you decide
how you want it to look, what features it will include, and who can
visit and join.
Publish digital photographs to an online photo album or view photos
that others have published.
Share your thoughts and stories with other group members, by using the
message board or in real time using online chat.

Each MSN group has some or all of the following features, depending on
how it is customized by the group manager:

What's New page
Custom home page (This is the Web page that displays first each time a
user enters your group. )
Message boards
Picture albums
Chat rooms
Document storage
A Member list
Recommended links
An appointment calendar

Is there a limit to the amount of content a group can have?
There is no limit to the amount of storage (A quantity of space on the
MSN servers reserved for saving your files, photos, documents, and
messages. Storage is expressed in megabytes (MB).) space a group can
occupy. However, each computer user is limited to a specific number of
megabytes (MB) of total content (photos, files, and discussion
postings that contain an attachment (A file, photo, or document that
is linked to a message. Everyone who receives the message can receive
the attached file.) ) across all the MSN Groups he or she belongs to.

Group members can find out how much of their allowed storage space
they have used by viewing Storage Limit Info on their Member
Information page, or by clicking My Storage wherever they see the
link.

Notes
You can reduce the amount of storage space used by deleting files,
photos, and discussion postings that contain an attachment.
You can also check the Storage Meter to see how much storage space
your photos have used up.
When creating a group, the group name must contain between 1 and 55
characters. The group description can consist of no more than 765
characters.
