Photo Info destroys date data

Users should be warned that "Update time in EXIF" doesn't work for multiple
files. It overwrites (and loses permanently) the original date/time with an
incorrect value for every file except one. I've had data destroyed in over
4000 files and would have lost it completely if I hadn't backed up first.

No response. I'll take that as a "Yes" then.

Can someone from MS please acknowledge this fault and warn users before they
destroy their data.

Too late. Photo Info destroyed my photo dates. I was stupid (and I **KNOW**
better . . . ), and I did not back up my pictures. Please fix this so it
doesn't happen again!!

Stay away from MS tools to update metadata or add labels.
e.g. Photo gallery or PhotoInfo.

They screw the makernotes and, as opposed to PSE, these
cannot be re-inserted from a backup of the Exif/IPTC data.
