I am currently using Windows XP Home Edition. When I start up my Windows
Installer tries to install Photo Gallery but it fails at it requires a disk
which I don't have. I understand it is a Windows Vista application, so how
can I stop the Windows Installer not load Photo Gallery being installed at
start up?

Windows Live Photo Gallery will run
on Vista or XP.

Windows Live Photo Gallery does not
require a disk...the file is usually installed
from the net.

I'm wondering if you downloaded the
installer but did not allow it to complete
the process.

Have you tried doing a System Restore to
a time before this issue began?

I'm having the exact same problem. Have looked through Startup folders,
Registry HKLM and HKCU Run, Run Once, Run Services. Cannot find anthing
that has to do with anything unknown.

Before I install WinPatrol as Bob suggests elsewhere, I'd like to know 1)
will it solve *this* problem? 2) With Windows Installer acting up, is it
safe to install another program?

Where is the "Startup" command for Windows Installer located? I'd rather
learn how to stop the Installer attempts to install Photo Gallery manually.
