Why can't I get Windows XP Home edition to read some of
my jpeg files I backed up on a CD from a previous
computer that ran on Windows ME. I have tried the Kodak
program, Adobe Photoshop, the Windows viewer program.
When I open just the CD they show them all as JPEG files -
anyone else have this problem???

Try Irfan View, it'll open most graphics file types

It's free and you can get it from "tucows"

I have Adobe Photodeluxe and get them from my photo menu (get pict)from
several places..also there is a mesage box to ask for what kind of format
you want..Then there is a list of picts. you want to transfer...Takes some
figuring....I suggest you get help if this is too dense but I do it all the
time ..I hope this helped If not I will try again >>JIM
