I'm a PowerPoint newbie. Been trying to put together a photo album
consisting of 1 title slide and 22 pictures which I want to run with one
song playing beginning with the title slide and playing as the album
progresses and which I want to email to friends and family, most of whom
only have the PowerPoint reader and not the entire program. After
successfully preparing the picture part of the album with all the
transitions and sending it to a few people, I'm advised that the music
doesn't play. Also, afer reading the faq's on different sites I'm
thoroughly confused:
- The music I have is on and from a purchased cd- does it need to be
converted to a different format prior to linking or embedding it into the
album?
- Is there any way to creating this album without it becomming a huge file?

All suggestions are gladly welcomed!

Thanks,
AB

Alex, first about the sound.

Assuming it's copyright free for you to distribute, you can convert your CD
track to a WAV file - more info here:

Convert CD Audio to WAV:

Convert it to WAV and place the WAV in the same folder as the presentation.
Then, insert it within the presentation.

About the copyright thing, you might want to read this:

Now about the huge factor - since PowerPoint is inserting your full
resolution images via the Photo Album, you need to look at compression.
Here's a complete tutorial:
