Phone dialer softwares??

Hi All :)
Im trying to make calls from my computer instead of using the
phone.

I work as a telephone interviewer and need to make lots of long
distance calls which I wish to do without having to use the phone and
use just my puter speakers and microphone instead.

I have a speaker phone modem "Supra 288i SP"

1) Is there a way I can dial numbers using a calling card and then
talk to the person using just my microphone and speakers?

2) Can i do this using windows 98 phone dialer ?
I have not been able to do this with the dialer as I cant hear
anything once it connects

3) Do I need to download a some extra software to do this?

Please let me know if there is a way!!

It will save me a whole lot of time !!
