For a few days now when I stop my USB Flash memory drive
and remove it from the slot, it doesn't disappear from
Windows Explorer. I've been using these drives for months
with no problems. This has been happening for about a
week. After stopping the drive, I get the appropriate
message that it's now safe to remove the device. I pull
it out and then go back to Windows Explorer and it still
shows the drive. I use this drive for a backup everyday so
after 4 days I show 4 phantom removable drives (E: F: G:

in Windows Explorer. I have to reboot to make them go
away. Windows 2000 Version 5 Build 2195 Service Pack 4
all the latest patches and updates. Any ideas what's
causing this.
