How can I remove "phantom" text box lines that are
randomly printing around some of the text boxes in the
document? Note: Although the boxes are printing, they are
not seen when viewing the slide show. They were not
included in the design of the document, and the original
printing of the document did not include text box lines.

I took a PowerPoint test recently (at a mgmt consulting
firm in NYC)who was either unaware of or maliciously
failing to mention the "shadows" in their default
AutoShape formatting. The color of the shadow was so light
it was practically invisible on screen, but a light line
printed. This can be indecipherable from "lines"
particularly when the boxes have no "fill."

Could it be?

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Dona,

Do the "phantom" lines show up in Print Preview? (PowerPoint 2002 and
PowerPoint 2003) or in Black and White view (PowerPoint 97 and 2000)? If
so, you can adjust the properties of each object to control how they will
print to a non-color printer.

1) Select object
2) Right+Click and from the Grayscale command on the context menu choose a
different option for how it should print.
3) Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each object whose non-color output you want to
modify.

Thank you so much for the information. It worked.
