In windows explorer I see a C: and E: harddrive. There is no 2nd harddrive
installed and E: is a duplicate of C:
In the BIOS I confrimed only have a single drive installed.
In the Admin/Disc mgt I confirmed only a single drive installed with only a
single partition for the entire drive.
This is also a fresh install of Windows XP with all current updates. The
motherboard is a ASUS SE2.

I found some instructions to use regedit to delete drives in the "Mounted
Devices" registry folder and I deleted the E:

But E: duplicate of C: is always present on reboot.

How can I fix this?

thanks for any tips

I have the same problem I believe it was caused by drag to disk I tried the mount vol command but it did not work for me but not sure I did it correctly would like to know if you find a solution

Drag to Disk is not a Windows XP "module." It comes from Roxio and it
is normally only used to write to RW media as a large "floppy" disk.
